Internationally approved IABC Certification - Key to Business Excellence    

The IABC is an Internationally approved body, in full compliance with ISO 17024 (personal competence assessment) which certifies that the IABC  has the authority to certify professional skills and competencies of business consultants nationally and  internationally.  

The IABC exists to improve both New Zealand and International business success by improving the quality of business management advice  New Zealand and Overseas business owners receive.

The IABC has 4 main strategies to achieve this purpose:

  • Understanding and documenting the qualities, education and experience an excellent business consultant must possess.
     
  • Measuring individual business consultants against those criteria and awarding IABC membership status when the required standards are met.
     
  • Matching business consultant skills, successes and experiences with the individual requirements of business owners.
     
  • Continued measurement of business results to evaluate & improve IABC skills and advice.

When is certification awarded

Certification is awarded once a consultant has passed an international approved programme of competency assessments which tests their skills and knowledge, the quality and relevance of their advice and the success they have achieved for clients.

Only business consultants who demonstrate the required levels of competence are awarded the internationally approved Certificate of Competence.

They are then listed as certified by both IABC and the global body RABQSA (an ISO 17024 accredited international organisation which certifies personal certification systems and personnel for competency in specific areas such as Consultantcy).

Two entry paths to certification have been developed by the IABC

  1. Associate Business Consultant    ENTRY CRITERIA (Under Development)
  2. Provisional Business Consultant  ENTRY CRITERIA (Under Development)

Two levels of certification have been developed by the IABC.

  1. Certification as a “Professional Business Consultant” is available now.  ENTRY CRITERIA
  1. Certification as an “International Business Consultant” will be launched during 2010.
