APEC-IBIZ
In 2001, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) created the International Network of Institutes of Small Business Counsellors – or APEC-IBIZ for short. This network provides training and certification for consultants, counsellors and other professionals who advise small businesses across APEC economies. Fifteen APEC economies, New Zealand included, are currently involved in the programme and its efforts continue to enhance the competitiveness of the region’s SME businesses in the global market. The APEC programme is currently being extended to Latin and South America.
IABC recognised the value offered by the APEC-IBIZ programme and decided to align its competency-based Professional Business Consultant (IABC PBC) Certification Programme with APEC – IBIZ framework of competencies and elements that underpins their programme.
This enables IABC PBC to acknowledge the knowledge and skills of participants in the APEC-IBIZ program by awarding them a recognition of prior learning (RPL) for the courses, or part courses, they have completed, when they enrol in IABC’s Professional Business Consultant certification programme.
It also allows us to significantly reduce the fee that applies to those applicants with an APEC-IBIZ qualification or part qualification. Please contact IABC to find out if you qualify.
