FAQs
Q. I don’t know if my work experience is sufficient for me to get certified?
A. Certification is based on six competencies. Provided you meet the entry criteria and can demonstrate you have all six competencies, you may be able to achieve certification. Contact us to discuss your personal situation.
Q. I don’t know if I’ll meet the required level for at least one of the core competencies. Will this prevent me from becoming certified?
A. As you work through the programme, your facilitator will identify any areas where you might need to lift your competence and recommend professional development that will help you achieve the required competency level.
Q. Although I have almost 20 years experience as a consultant, I don’t have any formal qualifications in management or business. Can I apply for certification?
A. As certification is based on six core competencies, there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to become certified provided you can demonstrate your skill level in these competencies.
Q. Do I need to have my qualifications verified before scanning and uploading?
A. Your qualifications will be checked to ensure they are authentic. It may reduce the amount of time your application will take to process if you get certificates, diplomas or degrees verified first. A Justice of the Peace (JP) may be able to help with this.
Q. What do the fees cover?
A. Your registration fee covers the administrative cost of verifying that you meet the entry criteria for the level of certification you are seeking, as well as advice and assistance from your facilitator. The fees for each level of certification cover the cost of advice and assistance from your facilitator as well as access to professional development training resources.
There are several funding schemes available. For example you may be eligible for an NZTE Capability Development Voucher. This would be subject to approval from your local Regional Business partner.
